GPS Hospitality Hosts Holiday Food Collection in Support of York County Food Bank

Local BURGER KING® Franchisee Will Collect Non-Perishable Items from Nov. 27 – Dec. 15

Local BURGER KING® franchisee, GPS Hospitality, today announces a partnership with the York County Food Bank to host a non-perishable food drive starting this week through Friday, Dec. 15 at all of its six area BURGER KING® restaurants. In addition, as part of the company’s “Community Appreciation Week,” GPS Hospitality will donate 20 percent of all sales on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. to the York County Food Bank, with a guaranteed $1,000 minimum donation.

“We’re proud to be part of the York County community,” said Chuck Repman, Director of Operations at GPS Hospitality. “We’ve invested in remodeling four existing locations and building two new restaurants to provide our employees with a great working environment, as well as creating a bright and inviting atmosphere for our guests to enjoy. Our partnership with the York County Food Bank is just one more way to show our commitment. We look forward to working with our neighbors to help the residents of York County enjoy the holidays.”

GPS Hospitality’s “Community Appreciation Week” is scheduled for the week of December 11 and includes the following offers:

  • 12/11: Medium Coffee Monday – Free Medium Coffee with any purchase.
  • 12/12: York County Food Bank Night – From 4 to 8 p.m., 20 percent of sales to be donated to the York County Food Bank.
  • 12/13: WHOPPER® Wednesday – $1.99 WHOPPPER sandwich. Limit 1 per person.
  • 12/14: Thirsty Thursday – Free Medium Drink with any purchase.
  • 12/15: Fry Friday – Free Medium Fries with any purchase.

On Friday, Dec. 15, GPS Hospitality will present a check, valued at a minimum of $1,000, to the York County Food Bank from the proceeds collected during the Community Appreciation Week benefit night.

The York County Food Bank has a community mission to end hunger by partnering with local groups and agencies to increase the quantity of high quality, nutritious food to everyone who needs it.  In 2016, the York County Food Bank provided more than 2 million pounds of food to families and individuals in York County. All donations are welcome; however, the most needed-food items include canned vegetables and fruits, canned and boxed meals (e.g., soup, chili, stew, macaroni and cheese), canned or dried beans and peas (e.g., black, pinto, lentils), pasta, rice, low sugar cereals, peanut butter, baby formula and baby foods.
